Galangal is a molecule

False: Galangal is a plant that is native to Indonesia, but has long been part of the cultures of other Asian countries such as India, China and Thailand. Part of the ginger family, it's an age-old natural remedy which is also popular in the Middle East, where it's used in all its forms, such as its seeds, oils or as infusions. Galangal is an edible root

True: This root is used in many dishes for its exotic, intense flavour; but, although it is similar to ginger in appearance, don't expect it to taste like it.
