For dry skin : cucumber + yoghurt
Composed of 95% water, cucumber has powerful moisturising properties, and dry and irritated skin responds especially well to it. You'll need :
- 1 cucumber
- 3 tbsp yoghurt
Peel and deseed the cucumber, then blend it to make a puree. Mix in the yoghurt to create a smooth cream. Apply your homemade face mask to the face and neck, avoiding the eye contour area. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off.
For dehydrated skin : avocado + olive oil
Avocado is rich in folic acid and vitamins C, B6, A and E, making it great for dehydrated skin. You'll need :
- 1 avocado
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Mash up the avocado and add the olive oil. Apply the paste to your face, leave it for twenty minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.
For skin in need of a pick-me-up : honey + clay
Honey is nutrient-rich and has revitalising properties that will buck up tired skin in a jiffy. You'll need :
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp of white clay
- 1 tbsp of plain yogurt
Mix the honey with the clay and yogurt to get a smooth paste. Apply to your skin and leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
For skin that's exhausted : banana + honey
If you've been flying a lot or have been in the sun, chances are your skin is in need of nourishment. Step in bananas… You'll need :
- 1 banana
- 3 tsp honey
Mash the bananas to get a puree. Mix in the 3 tsp of honey until you have a smooth paste. Apply the mask to a cleansed face and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, before rinsing with lukewarm water.
For blemish-prone skin : egg + olive oil
Egg yolks even out skin tone and blur minor blemishes, as well as providing essential nourishment to help the skin heal itself. You'll need :
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Pop a towel around your shoulders (the mixture is runny so may end up on your clothes otherwise), and carefully apply the mixture of the two ingredients to your face. Leave for around twenty minutes and rinse off.
